Section Three--Shock

As stated previously, Shock is loss of perfusion to some organ/tissue of the body.

Clinical Signs of Shock are: Low BP, Low Urine output, Skin Color and Temperature Changes, Cerebral Perfusion Compromise.

Treatment of Shock--depends on the cause. The cause is determined by clinical signs and symptoms, the patient's medical history and hemodynamic information. The three hemodynamic measurements learned earlier plus the three types of shock will be learned in this unit. You may proceed through this material in any order.
