Dr. Stephen J. Grieco is presently the Assistant Dean of Liberal Studies and Music Department Chair at the Community College of Philadelphia where he heads the Music Technology and Composition program. Formerly he served as Full time faculty and Chair of the Department of Music at Phoenix College in Arizona, and Head of Composition, Theory, and Technology. Dr. Grieco has received awards from Pro Musica, the North American Artists Foundation, Meet the Composer, the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music, Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Arizona State University, Bowling Green State University, Contemporary Music Society, and the Victoria Bohlen Award. His compositions have been commissioned and performed in Europe and throughout the United States by ensembles including the Cleveland Chamber Symphony Orchestra, The United States Army Chorus, ASU Symphony Orchestra, and award winning organist Kimberly Marshall. Dr. Grieco has been a guest speaker and lecturer for composition and electronic music at numerous Universities and public schools. One of his most recent compositions, M.A.R.S. (Musical Area Recognition System), was an interactive installation for the NASA Challenger Space Center's Smithsonian Exhibit "Music of tomorrow". His One Act Opera, The Monkey's Paw, was produced and directed by the Fredonia Opera Theater Organization. His recent works are published by ChoralWeb Publishing, Inc., C.J. Allette Publishing, Inc., and are recorded on Cactus Records and West Side Records. Dr. Stephen J. Grieco is a member of B.M.I. (Broadcast Music Incorporated).
