The following is meant to make a beneficial classroom experience for everyone. CCP requires that an instructor uphold classroom standards, ethics, integrity, and create a safe environment for which learning can take place. No student can interfere with the learning of another student and it is the responsibility of the instructor to enforce this principle.
DO’S
Show up for every class, on time, with a positive attitude, prepared to listen and take notes.
Do your weekly practice (homework) and read the chapter BEFORE the lesson.
Be respectful of other classmate’s time.
Be respectful of your instructor. Instructor is there to help you!
Ask questions during the lesson for clarification. If you have MANY questions that will take significant class time, save all of these until after class. I will stay after class as long as needed to help you!
Speak with your instructor AFTER class, if needed.
Speak with classmates AFTER class, if needed.
Use the printer ONLY AFTER class, if needed.
Inform the instructor of your attendance AFTER class.
Use technology (computer, cell phone apps, calculator) to complement paper calculations and formulas.
Manage your time in and out of the class (especially with Homework).
DON’TS
*any Violation can result in loss of attendance points or dismissal from class.
All of
these “don’ts” can interfere with other classmates’ ability to listen and take
notes.
(Exceptions can be made in Emergency cases.)
Don’t be disrespectful, nasty, violent, or rude to your instructor. If so, you will be asked to leave possibly escorted by security, if necessary.
Don’t Speak to others including on your cell Phone while the instructor is speaking.
Don’t use the computer during class for non-related class tasks.
Don’t Print while the instructor is speaking.
Don’t Eat & Drink while the instructor is speaking.
Don’t Leave the room while the instructor is speaking. Recent CCP safety policy requires that a classroom door is to stay shut after the instructor closes the door.
Don’t Take up other classmates time by asking too many questions. Instead write these all down for AFTER class.
If you walk in late, do not stop the instructor during the lecture to inform of your attendance. Inform the instructor AFTER class. Too many questions to catch you up during class will NOT be permitted if you show up late to class.
Don’t Use technology (computer, cell phone apps, calculator) IN LIEU OF paper calculations and formulas.
Don’t make excuses, take responsibility for your learning.
Don’t interfere with the learning of another student.
