This course is based upon the premise that practical experience in conducting searches for information is the best method of gaining knowledge of how to find desired material. As a consequence, six to eight library and computer database problems constitute the core of the students work. Time is devoted to a discussion by the student on assigned material and her or his experiences in locating information. Since the clear direction of literature searches in many laboratories is by computer, the student will be introduced to this technique.

_____________________________________________________________________Evaluation:

For a passing grade all assignments must be completed.

Late reports drop 10 points per week of lateness.

Reports turned in after the final day of class have a maximum grade of “C”.
