Philosophy 101 (Internet Version)

The information on this page is posted here only for the purpose of providing general information about the Internet Phil 101 "WebStudy" course. The actual course will differ somewhat from what is described here.

The textbooks and the weekly syllabus posted here are those in use for the Spring Semester. Both are likely to be greatly revised for the Fall 2011 semester and somewhat revised for Summer I 2011. Nevertheless, the general structure of the course, and the practices, will be close enough that you can judge from this what sort of thing to expect, even if the details will change.

Consequently it would be a very good idea not to purchase the books listed here on the expectation that they will also be used in the Fall semester.

Decisions about books for the course in the Fall will be available here by August 15, which gives students a month lead time for acquiring them online. In general that works better – and is a bit less expensive – than waiting until 'book rush' at the College Bookstore.
