SUBJECT:      Uploading Your Assignments To Your Instructor: 10th Edition, College Keyboard and Document Processing

This is a two-part process. First, you are going to take the Student Portfolio of the lesson due and create a Word XP document containing it. Second, you are going to upload your Student Portfolio lessons to me. Following is detailed information on how to do it. Take one step at a time and you will have no difficulty. After you do it a few times, it will become automatic.

You are going to send me your weekly assignments, Student Portfolios, for the first ten lessons, by uploading your Word documents. Your weekly assignments according to the Timeline will be due no later than Sunday, 7 p.m. of each week. It is extremely important that you get your assignments to me on time. The highest you can receive for lessons 1-10 is 80 points. One day late drops it to a 50 and two days late drops it to 0 points (Your assignment is late if received after 7 p.m. on Sunday.) You may hand in assignments early and continue forward through your list of assignments. I will be checking your Assignments several times a week.

You will use the upload option in Assignments within WebStudy to send me your assignments. The URL for WebStudy, is http://ccp.whyy.org (Tip: add this page to your bookmarks or favorites). Follow the following steps very carefully and exactly.

  1. All assignments will be done OFFLINE. You need not connect to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) until you have completed your lesson and are ready to send it to me.

  1. After you have completed your weekly assignment, click on Portfolio; located on the toolbar at the top of the screen.

  1. Click on the lesson you wish to send me, click exercise types All, and then click OK. You should have a Student Portfolio on your screen.  Make sure all exercises are visible for me to read.

  1. On your keyboard press Alt+Print Screen at the same time. Print Screen is located on the top right of your keyboard, directly above Insert. It will appear as if nothing has happened but what you are doing is taking a picture of your Student Portfolio. Minimize your Student Portfolio by clicking the (-) minus on the blue title bar at the top right of your screen.

  1. Open MS Word XP, create a new document, and name the document by your last name, the Week due, and the lesson number. Example: Harmonis Week 1 Lesson 1. Paste the Student Portfolios in the Word document just created at the drive of your choice. (I recommend saving all of your lessons on a jump drive or Drive A, using the same 3 ½ floppy.) The Paste icon looks like a suitcase and appears on the Menu Bar.). The Student Portfolio now appears in your Word document and this is the Assignment you will upload to me.

  1. If more than one lesson a week is due, upload your Student Portfolios or projects under the correct assignments. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

  1. After you have pasted your Student Portfolios into your Word XP documents, save the documents by clicking on File, Save As. In the “Save In” box, choose “the drive of your choice. In the File name box, name your file (your last name), Week due, Lesson No. Example: Harmonis Week 1 Lesson 1.  Press save and then close your documents. If you already named your document, ignore this last step or treat it as a review to saving documents. You have now saved your Student Portfolio as a Word XP document and are ready to upload your assignment.

  1. Connect to your e-mail provider and then go to WebStudy http://ccp.whyy.org (Tip: Bookmark this site because you will be using it often.)

c)      Click the appropriate week.

h)      Select the file you are sending me.

YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF.  This process may seem somewhat clumsy, but it will become automatic after you do it a few lessons. If you have any questions, just e-mail me in WEBSTUDY.
