Our Coursework
The Community College of Philadelphia offers hands-on courses in GIS, Environmental Conservation, Physical Geography, Human Geography, Urban Geography and World Regional Geography. These courses are academic, technical, and applied as well as based in current issues. CCP teaches with the latest version of the leading GIS software, ArcGIS, developed by ESRI. In addition to coursework in the above areas, there are many ways in which GIS and Geospatial concepts can be incorporated into a wide variety of curriculae. We have designed the exercises, below, to demonstrate ways in which other disciplines can benefit from using GIS and related technologies.
The exercises, below, can be used as faculty resources for use in their own class. They can all be completed without access to special software - only an internet connection is required.
