What is a Hybird Course?
The course selection indicates it's a hybrid course, what does that mean?
"Hybrid" is a term used to describe a course that combines traditional classroom instruction with the online classroom.
Hybrid courses move a significant portion of what is taught in the traditional classroom to online thus reducing but not eliminating the amount of classroom time.
Hybrid courses usually allow for greater flexibility in the student’s schedule.
The goal of Hybrid courses is to join the best features of what students learn in the classroom with the best features of online learning.
This promotes active independent student learning while decreasing the time spent in the classroom.
Each hybrid course is different, just as each traditional and online class is different. Hybrid courses can include lectures, labs, and/or
learning activities, such as case studies, tutorials, self-testing exercises, simulations, and online group collaborations.
