Welcome to Biology 106 Online

 

Biology 106 is a general biology course for non majors. All of the lecture notes, assignments and lab exercises and exams are on webstudy. Your webstudy login will not be activated until the first day of the semester. Click here to access the webstudy portal.

The departmental syllabus details college policies for all students. The Online Syllbus is specific to Biology 106 Online. All of the material is covered but in slightly different order.

The course is divided into 4 Units. Each unit will have its own set of notes to guide you through what is emphasized. While there are no specific reading assignments from the text, you should use your textbook to supplement the class notes provided. Assessment of each unit consists of homework and lab assignments culminating in exam consisting of multiple choice and short answer questions. Exam content will come directly from the unit notes, homework and lab assignments. Currently all exams are online. For each unit students will also create a short (5-8 slide) powerpoint presentation on an assigned topic.

Computer literacy. This entire course is online. You should be proficient with a word processing program such as Microsoft Word and familiar with a presentation program such as Microsoft Powerpoint. You will be expected to navigate to sites other than Webstudy and to downloand, upload, save and rename files.
