Attendance

Students are required to sign in to WebStudy at least four times each week (on four separate days)  By signing in, the instructor expects that the student will check his/her mail, read any “news”, and do any needed assignments, forums, etc.  Failure to do so may lead to dismissal from the course if a student misses more than 1 week.  And you may miss out on some great discussions about uses of medical terminology in the news and on the net!

Please be advised that the instructor has the capability of monitoring when students use either of our sites.

Financial Aid

Students who withdraw (or are dropped) from class(es) should be aware that eligibility for financial aid might be affected.  Students who wish to withdraw, should check with the Financial Aid office to find out if current and/or future financial aid will be adjusted.  Students who withdraw completely from classes during a semester are subject to financial aid refund and repayment policies.  These federal policies require the Financial Aid office to determine if a portion of your financial aid must be returned an/or repaid to federal financial aid programs.

Please consult the college catalog and the Financial Aid Office for more details.

Center on Disability

The Center on Disability provides accommodations and support services to all qualifed students with disabilities to ensure their access to the College’s academic programs, activities, and services.  The intention of the Center is to provide services, which assist students in achieving maximum independence.  Services include support staff such as interpreters and readers, as well as the use of assistive technology and counseling.  Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the Center on Disability at 215-751-8050.

Important!

Successful students will be those who are extremely self-disciplined and able to work on their own independently.  A satisfactory score on the final will most likely be gained through consistent effort throughout the course.

Please be careful to direct your emails in Webstudy to either an individual (or if necessary, to the class) – and keep the correspondence appropriate to the course.

Treat all of your classmates with respect.  Did you know that typing an email in all caps is considered shouting? If you need to update your knowledge of what is polite in regards to internet etiquette, check out  http://www.albion.com/netiquette/ .

Course Expectations

Students will be expected to read the chapters assigned, do the exercises in their books, and complete the exercises on the student CD.  The only work submitted to the instructor is through the assignments that are posted in the timeline.  The exams are given approximately once per week and are graded automatically by the Evolve website.  Don’t miss the deadlines!
