This will be the last issue of viewpoints as a journal focused only on Developmental Education. No, we’re not going out of business, and Developmental Education will continue to be an integral part of viewpoints. However, we believe it is time to expand our vision of how a publication such as this should serve the college community. Beginning Fall 2003, viewpoints will become the College’s journal for developmental and collegiate teaching, learning & assessment. As such, we will welcome articles and commentary from colleagues across disciplines on that which matters most to us as educational professionals: How best to engage our students and ourselves in the work that should define a teaching college.
In addition to expanding our focus, we are also expanding our Editorial Board. Jay Howard, previously the on-line editor and Vince Castronuovo, the College’s 2002 Lindback recipient, have agreed to join the Board and we look forward to their full participation in shaping the future of this publication.
