New Patient Service Representative Program at Community College of Philadelphia

 

 

 

 

Patient Service Representatives serve as “front line” health care professionals and are responsible for ensuring positive patient experience and quality customer service.

 

You will supervise visitor intake procedures, collect and document patient information, coordinate billing and insurance procedures, and work closely with physicians, nurses, and other health care workers.

 

The Patient Service Representative program offers three tiered certificates of completion which can be combined with additional coursework to form an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree.

 

 

·        Tier 1 (Patient Access Representative): will qualify you work as a front-office assistant and/or insurance billing specialist.

 

·        Tier II (Patient Access Specialist): you will learn advanced-level billing and finance procedures.

 

·        Tier III (Patient Access Coordinator): you will study topics relating to health care policy and delivery systems, administrative procedures, and personnel management.

 

·        Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)

§         You can earn your two-year college degree by completing all three certificates plus some additional coursework.

 

§         You can also choose to earn your associate’s degree without progressing through the tiered certificate options.
