Technology Enhanced Classrooms at
Classroom Procedures and Use

All TEC
entrance doors are locked and need to be opened either by key, ID card swipe,
or Security personnel prior to gaining entrance. ±
Each podium is
locked when not in use. Older podiums (large, brown furniture-style) require
one key that will open the various compartments. Newer TechPod podiums only require
the side door to be opened. ±
Use of the ±
All TechPod
podiums have the required key tethered inside an attached ‘lock-box’. This
box has a four-digit combination that will be e-mailed to all faculty and may
also be obtained from Academic Computing. Please be sure to replace the key
into the box and push the door closed so the key is locked and protected
inside the box. ±
All full-time
faculty may acquire a key for the older podium from Facilities Management
through the normal signature/card system. Keys will only be granted after
showing a certificate of training received from Academic Computing. ±
All part-time
faculty may acquire an older podium key for the CBI from the main Security
desk at the entrance to the building. Faculty will be required to show the training
certificate All keys must be returned immediately after the class to the Security
station so they are available for use by other faculty. ±
All part-time
faculty may acquire an older podium key for use in the West or Winnett
buildings from Multimedia Services. The key must be checked-out in a manner
similar to any other piece of equipment and must be returned at the end of
the class period. ±

Training
sessions are conducted on a regular, on-going basis by the Department of
Academic Computing in the Instructional Technology Development Center (ITDC)
located in B2-26. Please check the Faculty
Workshops link on
the Academic Computing Department’s web page for the day and time most convenient
for you. A customized group training session will be conducted for any
academic department that desires to have a group of their faculty trained at
